Sharing the Watershed

The Christina River Basin
The Christina River is a tributary of the Delaware River flowing through southeastern Pennsylvania and northeastern Maryland and into northern Delaware. Water from the Christina flows into Delaware Bay, and ultimately, the Atlantic Ocean.
The Christina River and its streams supply approximately 100 million gallons of water per day for more than half a million people in the three states. It is also a source of recreation, food, and economic development.
The Christina River Basin has a rich history reaching back to its use as hunting and fishing grounds for the Lenape people. It was the site of early European colonization, a major Revolutionary War battle, and important technological advancements in the Industrial Revolution.
Building a Wiki
Concerned citizens are increasingly asking the scientific community for the tools to assist them in managing water resources. You want to be involved in protecting and preserving the Christina River Basin. In response, we are building this site as a wiki, where content will be primarily contributed, enhanced and maintained by the user community. We want to provide you with the framework so that you can share geographically-tagged data, photos, videos, comments, educational curricula, simulation models and other tools on streams and rivers. We’re just getting started, and we'll need your help!
Join Our Citizen Scientist Community
Public access is granted to most of the content on this website but you can become even more involved. Registered members can:
- Add community events to the events calendar.
- Join the discussion on the forum.
- Upload photos to our gallery.
We plan to add the ability to upload your citizen scientist data and create data visualizations.
So let’s get started. Join the community and together we'll build the Christina River Basin WikiWatershed!
Funding
